AC Milan scout 3 players in Lille vs Chelsea

AC Milan scouts monitored a trio of Lille players in tonight’s Champions League match against Chelsea.

AC Milan and Lille have crossed paths a lot on the mercato in recent seasons and this summer is not expected to be any different.  The Rossoneri are interested in a number of Lille players who will likely change club once the season is over.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that AC Milan scouts were following close a trio of Lille players in tonight’s Champions League match against Chelsea. Sven Botman, Renato Sanches and Jonathan David started from the first minute but were unable to help the Ligue 1 side avoid defeat in the hands of the Blues.

Sven Botman heads the list of targets and is the priority objective for the upcoming summer window. The Netherlands centre back is seen as the long-term replacement of Simon Kjaer and the perfect partner for Fikayo Tomori. Botman has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Rossoneri while Lille ask over €30 million to let him go.

The second player is that of Renato Sanches. Milan need an important name to replace Franck Kessie who will leave at the end of the season as a free agent. The contract of Renato Sanches with Lille expires in one year the French club are forced to sell him this summer. Sanches has a market value of around €20 million.

The last scouted player is Jonathan David. The 22-year-old Canadian striker is having a great season so far finding the back of the net on 16 occasions. Jonathan David has attracted the attention of many important clubs thanks to his performances, including AC Milan. While David is perfectly in line with Elliott’s transfer philosophy, Lille’s asking price of over €50 million looks prohibitive for AC Milan.
