Gds: AC Milan set maximum bid for Roma star

AC Milan continue to follow closely the situation of Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo who could change club this summer.

Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara continue their business on the transfer market as usual. The Rossoneri management will not be distracted by the negotiations of Elliott Management to sell AC Milan club to Investcorp. The arrival of the Bahrain fund could have a significant impact on Milan’s economic capabilities for the upcoming transfer window.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that AC Milan continue to remain interested in Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo. The 22-year-old Italian playmaker has returned to play at great levels recently but his future in the capital is uncertain. Zaniolo’s contract expires in June 2024 and renewal talks have halted for a long time.

The Italian newspaper explains that Zaniolo wants to feel at the center of a new project and aims to double his current salary of 2.2 million euros per season. He is currently looking for a contract similar to that of Lorenzo Pellegrini and Tammy Abraham, who receive around 4.5 million net annually.

Unable to agree a contract extension, Roma are seriously considering the sale of the Italy international. Roma are asking €60 million reports La Gazzetta dello Sport. AC Milan and Juventus and the two clubs most interested in the 22-year-old. AC Milan have decided to present a bid that will not exceed the fee of €40 million.

Regardless of the possible change of ownership, Maldini and Massara believe that’s the fair price of Nicolo Zaniolo and have no intention to overpay for his services. Zaniolo has scored 7 goals and assisted 8 in 36 appearances with the Giallorossi.
