Sevilla open talks with AC Milan player

AC Milan defender Davide Calabria could leave in January with Spanish club Sevilla interested in his services.

A very disappointing season for Davide Calabria who so far has failed to express himself on his usual level. Everyone was expecting a leap in quality from AC Milan’s number 2, who appeares convoluted instead.

The Rossoneri squad is getting hurt on the right side of the defense and it is something unexpected. In fact, with Calabria and Andrea Conti, the club considered to have a duo of reliable full-backs. Instead, the league start has showed the weaknesses of both. Too many mistakes made and the inevitable thought that in January the management must intervene on the market to sign a new right-back.

Andrea Conti could leave on loan in January to earn more play time but Davide Calabria could follow him. If his form doesn’t improve shortly AC Milan could decide to sacrifice him and rely on other options. Tuttosport reports on contacts between Calabria’s agent and Sevilla.

The Spanish club has been fishing for quite some time in Serie A in search of reinforcements. Sevilla sporting director Monchi is well informed of Serie A and would like to bring in the Italian 22-year-old defender. Any concrete offer from Sevilla will be taken into consideration by AC Milan who value Calabria at €30 million.

On the left Theo Hernandez is giving guarantees to the Rossoneri but on the right the club cannot afford all the difficulties seen so far. Either the current full-backs will drastically improve their performances or AC Milan will look to the market for solutions.
