AC Milan sign Suso’s replacement

AC Milan have signed Anderlecht midfielder Alexis Saelemaekers to replace Suso who joins Sevilla.

After selling Ricardo Rodriguez to PSV, Suso to Sevilla and Piatek to Hertha Berlin, AC Milan are now concentrated only on signings. The Rossoneri are currently on the market for a new left-back to replace the Swiss defender and have practically closed the signing of a right midfielder.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that AC Milan have completed the purchase of Anderlecht midfielder Alexis Saelemaekers. The 20-year-old Belgium U-21 international on loan for €3.5 million with the obligation to make the move permanent at the end of the season for another 3.5 million and an addition 1 million in bonuses bringing the total fee to €8 million. The player is expected tomorrow in Italy to sign his new contract.

Saelemaekers made his debut with Anderlecht in 2017 and has been a regular starter ever since. Despite his young age, Saelemaekers has made 19 appearances this season scoring 2 goals and providing 4 assists. Alexis arrives at the Rossoneri to replace Suso with Samuel Castillejo cementing his starting role as right midfielder.

The purchase of Alexis Saelemaekers confirms AC Milan’s transfer policy of signing only young players proving that the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic was just an exception. Now the Rossoneri must find a new left-back.

Nacional Montevideo have rejected Milan’s offer for Matias Vina forcing the Rossoneri to turn their attention on an old target like Antonee Robinson. Milan have proposed a loan move with the right to buy for 10 million from Wigan reports Sky Sport while the English club wants 12 million.
