AC Milan consider low-cost signing in attack

AC Milan are planning to sign a new centre forward in January. If Pioli decides to use Rafael Leao as left winger Piatek becomes the only centre forward available.

The players have returned to training after the international break and coach Pioli is preparing the upcoming Serie A match against Lecce. The management on the other hand is busy planning about the January transfer window.

There is always a lot of attention on those players who become free agents in June 2020. One of these players is Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud who may not wait the end of the season to change club.

The French striker has lost his spot in the starting eleven with youngster Tammy Abraham the focal point of Chelsea’s attack. Unlike Maurizio Sarri, new Blues coach Frank Lampard, has used Giroud very little.

Unhappy about his situation, the 33-year-old striker recently declared that he doesn’t accept his back-up role at the club and could leave Chelsea just like he did with Arsenal. “I’m going to fight for my place at Chelsea and we will take stock of the situation in January. But if they force me to make a decision I will do it, just like when I left Arsenal”, said Giroud .

According to The Sun, AC Milan and Inter are interested in Olivier Giroud. With Alexis Sanchez injured, Inter are looking for a new striker. AC Milan too need to sign a new centre forward, especially if coach Stefano Pioli decides that Rafael Leao will play permanently on the left wing.
