AC Milan squad now worth €500m: 4 players have doubled their value

The market value of the AC Milan squad has increased a lot since the Rossoneri have started to challenge for the Scudetto title.

AC Milan are growing, maturing and improving. Many talents have blossomed in recent years with the Red and Black jersey, players that now represent the pillars of Stefano Pioli’s team. Today’s edition of Corriere della Sera focuses on the growth – from an economic point of view – of the AC Milan squad, starting with the brightest jewel of the current squad: Rafael Leao.

At 22 years of age the Portuguese is already one of the best young players in European football. His current market value is around 60 million euros, but he could grow further and reach €70 million if Rafael starts scoring more consistently reports Corriere della Sera.

The former Lille left winger has been in scintillating form this season scoring 11 goals and assisting 6. His signing cost the club almost 30 million. The Rossoneri are working to lock him down with a new contract until 2026. But Leao is certainly not the only AC Milan player to have doubled his market value.

Theo Hernandez, Fikayo Tomori and Sandro Tonali are all worth around 50 million. Overall, the new AC Milan squad has a total market value of almost 500 million according to Transfermarkt. A big part of the merit goes to coach Stefano Pioli for the amazing work he has done so far.

Nevertheless, AC Milan plan to improve their squad when the transfer window opens. Sven Botman is expected to be the first player to join the Rossoneri for the new season.
