AC Milan tried to sign Real Madrid winger

AC Milan wanted to sign Real Madrid right winger Marco Asensio. The Rossoneri opened talks with Los Blancos but their attempt was unsuccessful.

During the summer, AC Milan and Real Madrid talked about a couple of players. In recent years several Madrid players have joined AC Milan after falling down the pecking order at Santiago Bernabeu. Besides Brahim Diaz, the Rososneri tried to sign another one from Real Madrid this summer.

Marca reports that AC Milan made an attempt for Marco Asensio. The Rossoneri were seriously interested in the 25-year-old right winger and opened talks with Real. Nevertheless, Paolo Maldini’s blitz was unsuccessful and Asensio stayed at Los Blancos.

AC Milan were determined to take Asensio with the same formula as Brahim Diaz, on loan with the right to make the transfer permanent. The Rossoneri aimed to relaunch the career of the Spanish winger who has struggled in the last two season.

Real Madrid were open to negotiate the transfer of Marco Asensio to AC Milan but the 25-year-old had other plans. Asensio said no to AC Milan and later even to Tottenham. The player’s objective has always been to relaunch himself in Madrid, canceling the disappointing last seasons affected by injuries.

For a long time Maldini and Massara were looking for a new right winger. Milan always planned to confirm Alexis Saelemaekers but wanted to replace Samuel Castillejo with a new face. At the very last hours of the summer window Milan brought Junior Messias on loan from Crotone. The Brazilian is the new right winger under Pioli’s orders
