AC Milan try to snatch Barcelona midfielder

AC Milan are looking at Barcelona to strengthen their midfield with Spanish talent Riqui Puig available on loan.

The priority of AC Milan in the January mercato remains the signing of a new defender but at the same time Maldini is looking a back-up for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and a new central midfielder.

One of AC Milan’s transfer targets is Barcelona talent Riqui Puig. The 21-year-old has seen his play time reduced drastically and is looking to leave. The Spanish press also writes that Puig doesn’t have a good relationship with Leo Messi.

The Rossoneri are interested in his services and would like to sign Riqui Puig on loan with the option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season. Barcelona value their talent 30 million euros and have an option to extend his contract until 2023 (current deal expires in six months).

The situation at Barca is quite turbulent at the moment with the club preparing for the new president elections. However, coach Ronald Koeman has advised Barcelona to find a new club soon for the talented central midfielder because he will have limited chances at Camp Nou this season.

Interest in the Spain U-21 player is not low with Leeds United eager to bring him in England while Real Betis are offering him the chance to continue in La Liga.
