AC Milan very close to midfielder signing

AC Milan are very close to signing Empoli defensive midfielder Ismael Bennacer for 15 million euros.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – AC Milan continue to shop at Empoli to build their own midfield. After the arrival of Rade Krunic, former teammate Ismael Bennacer could reinforce the Rossoneri’s midfield.

Empoli directors were at Casa Milan today and, according to reports from all the Italian media, negotiations are at an advanced stage and an agreement could be announced in the coming hours.

Empoli demand 20 million euros for the defensive midfielder while AC Milan have made an opening bid of 13 million. However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bennacer will become a new AC Milan player for a fee of 15 million euros. New AC Milan coach Marco Giampaolo has approved the signing of Bennacer.

The arrival of the former Arsenal youngster means that AC Milan have abandoned the idea of signing Jordan Veretout. The Rossoneri believed that Fiorentina’s 25 million asking fee was excessive and did not correspond with the player’s real value. Veretout to Milan is definitely off and Ismael Bennacer takes his place.

Bennacer played two years for Arsenal before joining Empoli in 2017. This season he made 37 Serie A appearances offering 3 assists. He is a very promising defensive midfielder that can also play as central midfielder. The Algeria international is expected to sign a five-year contract of 1,3 million per season with AC Milan.
