AC Milan working underground to sign €40m-rated star

AC Milan are working to sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen. The Denmark star becomes a free agent at the end of the season.

The Rossoneri are moving to sign a new defender in January to replace the injured Simon Kjaer. However, Maldini and Massara and working underground to sign Chelsea centre back Andreas Christensen for the summer. A top level defender that is now free to negotiate with any club he wants.

Christensen’s contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the season and renewal talks have stalled for a long time. The Blues would like to tie down Christensen to a new contract. Coach Thomas Tuchel wants to keep the 25-year-old at Stamford Bridge but the parties look far from reaching an agreement.

Andreas Christensen currently earns around €3.5 million per season and is asking for an improved contract. Chelsea are unwilling to match his demands making room for AC Milan to enter the scene. Decreto Crescita allows Italian clubs to save a lot on the gross salaries of foreign players and AC Milan are working to take advantage.

Journalist Andrea Longoni reports that Andreas Christensen is Paolo Maldini’s dream for the Rossoneri defence. AC Milan are prepared to offer the 25-year-old a long term contract of over 6 million per season. In this scenario Milan would spend €10 million in gross salary.

The Chelsea star perfectly checks Elliott’s every requirement. Christensen has a market value of €40 million and is available for free. He is 25-years-old and has a lot of experience at top level. The Dane has 230 appearances to his name and has formed a rock sold duo alongside Simon Kjaer.
