Cagliari-Milan, probable lineups

Today, at 20:30 CET, Cagliari host AC Milan at the Sardegna Arena. Gennaro Gattuso’s team will try to secure another win after the one against Roma.

Serie A returns after two weeks of international break. The Rossoneri will travel to the island of Sardinia to face local side Cagliari. AC Milan must give continuity to the victory with Roma and the three points are an obligation for the squad of coach Gennaro Gattuso.

With many players returning to Milanello these days there’s the risk that some many struggle with fatigue. It will be fundamental for Gattuso to carefully manage his team and reduce the minutes of some players if he considers it necessary. Cristian Zapata is back to training again, while Montolivo, Andrea Conti and Ivan Strinic remain out. Patrick Cutrone suffered a slight injury with Italy U-21, nothing to worry, but has also been left out as a precautionary measure.

Gianluigi Donnarumma, back from an excellent performance with Italy, will guard the goal. In defense Mateo Musacchio is yet again preferred over Mattia Caldara to back the untouchable Alessio Romagnoli. On the right Davide Calabria but on the left, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ricardo Rodriguez and Diego Laxalt have equal chances to start form the first minute.

In the middle of the field Lucas Biglia will be accompanied by the usual duo, Franck Kessie and Giacomo Bonaventura. No dilemmas for coach Gattuso even in attack. Gonzalo Higuaìn will start up front while Jesus Suso and Hakan Calhanoglu will support him on the wings.

CAGLIARI (4-3-1-2): Cragno; Srna, Klavan, Romagna, Padoin; Castro, Bradaric, Barella; Ionita; Sau, Pavoletti.

AC MILAN (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Calabria, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Rodriguez (Laxalt); Kessié, Biglia, Bonaventura; Suso, Higuaìn, Calhanoglu.
