PL club matches Donnarumma’s €10m contract demands

Mino Raiola continues to reject AC Milan’s renewal offer as Gigio Donnarumma attracts interest from the Premier League.

The situation of Gianluigi Donnarumma’s renewal remains problematic for the club. Donnarumma in recent years has earned 6 million euros net per season, the second highest paid player in the squad behind Ibrahimovic. AC Milan has offered him a new contract of 7.5 million per year until 2026, a decidedly remarkable economic effort for a club that has had budget problems and has recorded huge losses in recent years.

His agent Mino Raiola demands 10 million per year and a much shorter agreement (two years at most, according to some sources). Without forgetting the low release clause of 30-40 million, which the infamous agent would like to have in case AC Milan don’t qualify for Champions League.

With no progress being made several clubs are lurking on the background. At the end of the season, any club would be able to sign the AC Milan goalkeeper on a free transfer. Paris Saint-Germain remain interested while Chelsea have joined the race according to Todofichajes.com.

The Spanish portal reports that Chelsea are quite interested in signing Gigio and have offered to match his asking price of 10 million net per season. Despite the recent arrival of Edouard Mendy, the Blues want to give it a try considering that Donnarumma is available on a free transfer. While Chelsea’s other goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, is just expecting the end of the season in order to join a new club.

So far Gigio has stated he wants to continue his career with Milan despite his actions attracting large criticism. Leaving the club that raised him and launched him in football when he was only 16 years old on a free transfer would be a gesture of great disgrace. The management remains optimistic while Raiola doesn’t back down.
