Ismael Bennacer announced return

Ismael Bennacer, after two injuries, has finally recovered and is back in training. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back also.

Stefano Pioli, in recent months, has had to cope without several important players who have been injured, including Ismael Bennacer. The Algerian playmaker has been out since 13 December, during the Parma match.

The 23-year-old midfielder returned on the pitch but only for a few minutes, in the first leg of the Europa League match against Red Star Belgrade. He was substituted in the first half. It was not a new muscle injury but rather a problem caused by the rush to get Ismael back on the pitch.

After almost a month on the sidelines, Bennacer has returned to train with the rest of the squad today. The Algeria international announced his return with a post on social media that portrays him among his teammates. Even the posted message leaves no room for doubt about the state of his recovery: “Finally back in the group“.

A great news for him but above all for Stefano Pioli who will now be able to recompose the duo of starting midfielders, who, especially in the first half of the season, made the Rossoneri fly to the top of Seria A standings.

Bennacer’s return is not the only good news. Zlatan Ibrahimovic too is back in training with the squad. The Swedish striker underwent medical exams and will be available for the upcoming Europa League game against Manchester United.
