“Confusion”: Costacurta slams Milan

Just like many AC Milan fans, former club legend Alessandro Costacurta too is not pleased with the performances of the team so far.

Verona-Milan remains an important topic of Italian football. The Rossoneri won their first match against Hellas away from San Siro since Ancelotti’s time but that was not enough to please the fans and even club legends like Alessandro Costacurta .

Albeit a very solid performances in defence, the attack was once again disappointing. Paqueta was a total failure in his first outing as trequartisa while Suso’s display was a setback compared to the match against Brescia. Thankfully, Piatek found the back of the net for the first time this season.

The fans are growing a bit impatient with Marco Giampaolo. The new AC Milan coach certainly needs more time to implement his footballing philosophy but, with the derby on the horizon, there isn’t much room for experiments.

When asked about Milan’s performance against Verona, Costacurta said: Waiting for the next (derby) match this is a great result, it calms and helps the atmosphere. But I don’t see improvements.

“When you are trying to change in this way the organization and tactics at the beginning there will be some confusion. I see more confusion than organization, not only at Milan but also in those other teams that have changed football ideas“, closed the former centre back.
