Conte praises AC Milan performance and reveals main weakness
Former Inter coach Antonio Conte did not spare praise for the performance of AC Milan against Liverpool tonight.
A spectacular night at Anfield. Liverpool manage to overturn the result and beat AC Milan 3-2. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri played a great match and proved they can compete against one of Europe’s most important clubs.
The performances of Stefano Pioli’s side surprised many who had expected Liverpool to dominate easily. Former Inter coach, Antonio Conte, praised AC Milan’s performances against the Reds and encourages the Rossoneri to continue in their path.
“I think Milan should use this match in their growth path. It was perhaps the worst game they could play and, despite a terrible start, they stayed in the match. At the half time I heard the stadium much more silent than usual and unfortunately the draw at the beginning of the second half gave Liverpool back enthusiasm and drive. Let’s not forget that Milan had six players who made their Champions League debut tonight.”
AC Milan are currently at the bottom of group B which is led by the English clubs. In the other group encounter, Porto managed to secure a valid point in Spain against Atletico Madrid.
Two weeks from now the Rossoneri will host Atletico Madrid at San Siro. Hopefully, unlike today, coach Stefano Pioli will have the entire squad at his disposal for that match.
