Daniel Maldini set to leave AC Milan for very low fee

AC Milan and Daniel Maldini are set to part ways at the end of the season with the Italian attacking midfielder joining Monza permanently.

Something unprecedented and likely not to be repeated ever again happened four years ago. On February 2020, Daniel Maldini made his senior debut with AC Milan becoming the third generation of the Maldini family to represent the Red and Black colors after his grandfather Cesare and his father Paolo. However, unlike his predecessors, Daniel an attacking-minded player and not a defender.

Daniel Maldini has made 24 appearances with AC Milan recording a crucial goal that proved to be very important for the Scudetto triumph of 2021/22. This 22-year-old attacking midfielder started the current season on loan at Empoli but moved to Monza in January and is slowly finding his best form under exciting coach Raffaele Palladino.

In fact, Daniel Maldini ahs scored 3 goals and provided 1 assists in 6 appearances with Monza and just 149 total minutes on the pitch. Just like against Genoa, Daniel scored one goal against Cagliari that won three points for his squad. It was an absolute screamer form a free kick that demonstrates the talent of the 22-year-old Italian attacking midfielder.

Nevertheless, Milan are unlikely to profit much form the talent and recent form of the young Maldini. The contract of Daniel Maldini with AC Milan expires in 2025 and no renewal negotiations have been held until now. The Rossoneri plan to sell Daniel this summer and Monza will very likely be his permanent new home starting from this year.

Calciomercato reports that Monza and AC Milan are already in negotiations to finalize an agreement. Adriano Galliani wants to keep Daniel and is talking with the Rossoneri CEO Giorgio Furlani with whom he has a very good relationship. AC Milan are set to earn a fee of around €5 million from the transfer of Daniel Maldini according to Calciomercato. A figure that is deemed low considering the age, talent and potential of the young Maldini.
