Agent of €40m-rated striker will meet AC Milan

The agent of Benfica striker Darwin Nunez will have a meeting with the AC Milan executives in the upcoming days.

The Rossoneri are not happy with the current situation in attack. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud have struggled with injuries so far while youngster Pietro Pellegri has failed to convince coach Stefano Pioli to play more minutes.

The management is perfectly aware that the signing of a new striker would help the team challenge for the Serie A trophy. Many players have been linked to AC Milan. One of the most intriguing names on Paolo Maldini’s list of transfer targets is that of Benfica star Darwin Nunez.

The 22-year-old Uruguay international is doing great in his second season in Portugal. In 16 appearances with Benfica, Darwin Nunez has scored 11 goals and assisted another 2. Due to his performances in the league and Champions, the market value of Nunez has increased to 40 million euros.

AC Milan are seriously interested in the Benfica star. Tuttosport reports that in the next few days a meeting is scheduled at Casa Milan between the Rossoneri and Edgardo Lasalvia, the agent of Nunez. Lasalvia recently confirmed the interest of Italian clubs in his client declaring that a January move is a realistic possibility.

AC Milan want to understand if a transfer is feasible and at what conditions. The good relationship with Benfica’s president Rui Costa could facilitate talks. Agustin Alvarez is another client of Lasalvia that has attracted the attention of AC Milan. The 20-year-0ld striker scored a stunning 23 goals in 38 appearances with Penarol last season.
