Like every year, Forbes magazine presents its annual list of the World’s Most Valuable Football Clubs (15th edition this year) and for the second consecutive year, the English giants of Manchester United lead the way with a monstrous value of $4.12 billion, up from $3.69 billion last year. following closely are the Spanish duo of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
It has been a profitable year for the top clubs with every team increasing its respective value with at least 9%, with one huge exception. AC Milan plummeted 24% in value over the past year, to $612 million.
Forbes writes that “The Rossoneri’s debt-laden owner (Yonghong Li) may have to sell the Italian side, which is facing UEFA sanctions“. Despite the obvious problematic situation it’s still nice to see the Red and Blacks among best European clubs and in front of city rivals of Inter.
