From Argentine: Boca Juniors reach agreement with AC Milan defender

According to rumors from Argentina, Boca Juniors are about to close a deal for Cristian Zapata. Olè reports that the Argentine club has already reached an agreement with AC Milan for a loan year loan of the Colombian defender.

A strange transfer formula since in one season Zapata’s contract with the Rossoneri expires and he will be able to leave for free. Yet in Argentina they are sure that the agreement between the two club has already been reached, even if we remain wary.

Zapata entered the sights of Boca Juniors to replace Lisandro Magallan, a central defender who seems to be heading towards Ajax. The Xeneizes leadership wants to secure a replacement before allowing the player to leave. The alternative to Zapata is Carlos Izquierdoz but his team, Santos Laguna, are demanding more than 8 million euros.

The Colombian 31 year old joined AC Milan in 2012 for 6 million euros and has over 120 games with the Red and Blacks. Even though he has never been a regular starter Zapata is an esteemed figure at Milanello. It seems bizarre for AC Milan to accept this type of proposal unless another player is involved in this operation (possibly Pavon?). We should expect updates in the next hours to better understand at what point the negotiations are.
