Former AC Milan striker set for Serie A return

After one year in Germany, former AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek is looking to leave and return in Serie A.

The Bundesliga adventure of Krzysztof Piatek is not taking off. The 25-year-old Polish centre forward is unhappy with not being a regular starter at Hertha Berlin.

The former AC Milan striker has only scored three goals in 13 appearances this season, without playing a single match for the entire 90 minutes. In looks like Piatek has decided to leave Germany in order to relaunch his career.

Ironically his future is linked to that of his former teammate, Patrick Cutrone. Fiorentina intend to cut short Cutrone’s loan and replace him with Krzysztof Piatek. According to Sportmediaset, Fiorentina want to sign the former Genoa and Milan striker on loan with the right or obligation to buy for 20 million euros.

Hertha Berlin spent around 25 million to buy the Polish striker in January 2020 but given his performance they are willing to sell him for a lower fee. The loan formula could be accepted, if conditions are inserted that can lead without too much difficulty to the make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.

AC Milan signed Piatek in January 2019 after some stunning performances at Genoa. In 41 appearances with the Rossoneri he scored 16 goals before being shipped to Germany and replaced with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
