Gattuso confirms Milan interest in midfielder

Nicolo Barella is one of the targets that AC Milan are considering for the midfield and the Rossoneri have already tried to sign him last summer.

AC Milan is among the clubs that are monitoring the progress of Cagliari star Nicolo Barella. Leonardo and Paolo Maldini are very attentive to young players who could reinforce the team in the future. And the 21 year old central midfielder is one of the profiles that intrigues the most the current Rossoneri management. Already in the past Massimiliano Mirabelli had tried to sign the Sardinian gem.

Gennaro Gattuso in today’s press conference ahead of Cagliari-Milan revealed: “Barella is an interesting future talent, I like him and we thought about signing him during the transfer marketIt is useless to hide it. Due to his age, he still has great room for improvement. He is a very promising prospect that is already doing great things. I like how he plays in his position, he can do a lot of roles. He is a player who manages to combine quality and quantity”.

Tomorrow Gattuso will find Barella again as an opponent in Cagliari vs Milan (read here the probable lineups). Certainly the young Italian will be very motivated to play against a coach who appreciates him and against a prestigious team like the Rossoneri. Last season Barella scored to Milan in a 2-1 defeat at home. The Red and Blacks won thanks to a brace by Franck Kessie.
