Gattuso’s 4 pillars: new Milan starts from them

Take back the sixth place in the standings, win the Coppa Italia final and then focus on building a new and more complete AC Milan squad for the future.

These are the goals of the Rossoneri club, who first hope to qualify for Europa League and then will focus on the summer transfer market to integrate an already good squad with other useful newcomers. Meanwhile, for this season finale Gennaro Gattuso will be able to count on his “fantastic 4” reports Il Corriere dello Sport, four pillars of his starting lineup that appear untouchable in the technical choices and at the same time are judged as unsellable for the next summer window.

The first name of the untouchables in question is certainly Giacomo Bonaventura, the veteran of the current group that has been at Milanello since 2014. A midfield jolly that with Gattuso is back to playing optimal football. His recent contract renewal puts Milan in a good position to reject proposals for the former Atalanta. Another name is that of the ever-present Franck Kessie, always part of the first eleven and unique for his physical and technical characteristics within the current squad.

Then there is the leader Leonardo Bonucci, captain and a pillar of the defense, the man on which to re-found the Red and Black backline. Finally, the new resource, Hakan Calhanoglu, who thanks to special performances and plays, has immediately won the total confidence of the Rossoneri environment and is demonstrating worthy to wear the historic Milan number 10 jersey.
