Gazzetta: Inter 1-0 Milan, player ratings

A goal in stoppage time by Mauro Icardi gives Inter the victory in the first Derby della Madonnina for this season. Disappointing the performance of AC Milan.

AC Milan disappoint and lose the derby against Inter. The decisive goal came only at 92 minute with a header from the usual Mauro Icardi, author of his fifth goal against the Rossoneri cousins in the last four games.

Gennaro Gattuso’s team cared more about the defensive phase, without ever trying to impose their own game. Many errors in attack, few in defense. One of them, however, arrived at the last minute and allowed Inter to score and win the match. Disastrous the exit of Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is rated as the worst of the match by La Gazzetta dello Sport with a 4.5.

The best is instead captain Alessio Romagnoli with 6.5. The young centre back tries to keep Milan in the game with personality, strength and good positioning. Unfortunately the rest of the team doesn’t follow his example.

For the rest, only Davide Calabria and Franck Kessie reach the sufficiency (both 6). All the others, including Gonzalo Higuain, do not go beyond 5.5. Hakan Calhanoglu underwhelmed again. Suso and Giacomo Bonaventura do not influence the game as they should, with the first constantly struggling from the narrow marking of Kwadwo Asamoah.

5,5 for Lucas Biglia who played nearly the entire match injured. Low ratings also for Mateo Musacchio and Ricardo Rodriguez (5) affected by the conceded goal (it is evident the error of the Argentine defender in marking Icardi), because they rarely made any mistakes for the rest of the match.
