Gazzetta: Napoli 1-3 AC Milan, player ratings

AC Milan secure another important victory beating Napoli 3-1 thaks to a brace by Ibrahimovic and continue to lead Serie A.

Another glorious evening for AC Milan. The success against Napoli at San Paolo allows the Rossoneri to consolidate their first place in Serie A standings with yet another positive result against a direct rival for a place in Champions League. The Rossoneri fly, even without Stefano Pioli on the bench.

According to the ratings by La Gazzetta dello Sport,  Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the man of the match yesterday. The Swedish giant, who gets an 8, scored two goals in opportunist fashion that bring his total tally to 10 goals in the first eight rounds of Serie A. Ibrahimovic guides Milan with his leadership but a muscle injury near the end of the match is cause for anxiety.

Gigio Donnarumma was in fantastic form yesterday. The Italian goalkeeper (7.5) neutralizes almost all the Napoli’s attacks. His save in the first half one on one with Dries Mertens was superb and a big contribution for AC Milan’s win.

Applauds for Simon Kjaer and Theo Hernandez’s confident and massive performance, Franck Kessie’s continuity and Jens Peter Hauge’s talent. The four of them get a 7 just like Ante Rebic. The Croatian winger returned to play from the first minute and was immediately decisive with his assist for Ibra’s second goal.

Positive the performances of Bennacer and Calhanoglu, always in the heart of the game (6.5 for both). Alessio Romagnoli again didn’t have a good night. His performances is considered subpar (6) and was dribbled by Mertens during Napoli’s only goal.
