Gds: AC Milan to make new attempt for Chelsea winger

AC Milan will make a fresh attempt to sign Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech on loan with option to buy reports Gazzetta.

AC Milan are still an incomplete squad and need a couple of signings before the end of the summer transfer window. The Rossoneri also must make some sales and offload players that are not essential to Stefano Pioli.

One of the two priority signings for Stefano Pioli is the right winger position. A new player that can make a significant contribution in terms of assists and goals. AC Milan have great confidence in Alexis Saelemaekers while Samuel Castillejo is expected to leave and make room for a new player.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Hakim Ziyech is still in AC Milan’s orbit. The Moroccan star was crucial in Chelsea’s European Super Cup win with his goal but his future is still more likely to be far from the Blues. Ziyech remains on the market and AC Milan will make a new attempt to sign him.

The 28-year-old is on top of Paolo Maldini’s list of transfer targets but Chelsea have remained firm in their refusal to discuss a loan move. The Premier League side spent 40 million euros to buy Ziyech from Ajax last year and will try to avoid a loss on their hefty investment.

Hakim Ziyech suffered a shoulder injury in the Super Cup match against Villarreal. Luckily, he doesn’t have to undergo surgery and will only miss a few games. The injury is not a problem for AC Milan but reaching an agreement with Chelsea is. The Rossoneri management hope that the Blues will changed their mind and accept a loan move near the end of the mercato.
