Gattuso’s tactical revolution revives Milan

A convincing signal was required from AC Milan and Gattuso’s boys delivered thrashing Sassuolo away from home thanks to some special moves from Rino.

Gennaro Gattuso’s AC Milan resurrects in Reggio Emilia against Sassuolo in a stadium where Massimiliano Allegri had fallen a few years ago. The current Rossoneri coach returns to Milano with more serenity and tranquility, even if he knows very well that it will be necessary to give continuity to this victory in order to come out definitively from this difficult moment.

After three draws in a row, Il Diavlo ends September with a single victory and that’s thanks to the tactical revolution of Gattuso who had to change formation due to the absence of Gonzalo Higuain and the not perfect physical conditions of Cutrone and Borini.

This morning Tuttosport reports that the coach was forced to deploy Samu Castillejo in the role of false nine at the center of the attacking trio but the Spaniard often alternated in that position with Calhanoglu, so as not to give reference points to Sassuolo’s defense. Gattuso also changed formation in some moments of the match, passing from the usual 4-3-3 to 4-1-4-1, that is a game system in which the Rossoneri closed well in defense and then tried to quickly restart a counter-attack once the ball has been reconquered.

The third consecutive victory on Sassuolo’s pitch obviously arrived after the excellent performance of some individuals. The best of the match yesterday was certainly Suso, who, in addition to his brace, was always present in the game and showed again that he’s one of the most decisive AC Milan players. Very well also Castillejo, employed in a role not his own, but author of his first “Italian” goal, and Kessie too, who owned the midfield.
