Leonardo in offer for € 150m rated star

AC Milan have just concluded one of the biggest transfer deals of this decade but technical director Leonardo could be preparing for much more.

Just imagine if the arrival of Gonzalo Higuain and Mattia Caldara was only the beginning of a stellar transfer market campaign. Apparently AC Milan technical director Leonardo is making an attempt to land Lazio superstar Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The Serbian was a target of the Rossoneri even last season but an offer of 60 million euros was rejected by Lazio at the time.

Even though it seems impossible for AC Milan’s budget to make an offer for the 150 million rated midfielder, Leonardo believes that considering the player’s technical abilities and his age (23), he is worth a big offer. The Brazilian is already working underground to clinch a deal.

According to rumors, Leonardo is willing to make a bid of 90 million euros plus Lucas Biglia and Fabio Borini. The Argentine midfielder has played for a long time with Lazio while the versatile Italian was a target of Simone Inzaghi’s team before joining the Rossoneri. Apparently AC Milan are also willing to offer Andre Silva to Lazio but the cash part of the operation should be lowered considerably, 70 million at most.

It is a very difficult negotiation but the positive side is that during this summer transfer window the Red and Blacks are not under the strict limitations of the Financial Fair Play so a payment of 90 million euros would have no negative impact on the club’s budget if it is made on 2 or 3 installments. In addition, a possible Champion League qualification would amplify the financial capabilities of the Rossoneri.
