Maldini: “Milan not aware of its strength. We must focus on dialogue”

AC Milan development director Paolo Maldini was interviewed by Sky Sport in the post-match of Cagliari-Milan.

On Gattuso’s comments <embarrassed start, the team must improve>: “The coach spoke and I agree with his words, this team must grow mentally, it’s there where we must insist, we must not forget that we come from two consecutive sixth places, the road is very long“.

On the Rossoneri project: “The project is serious, we intend to bring this team to the highest levels, there are young players, they are not yet convinced about what they can give, we the executives have to talk with them about this“.

On being anti-Juventus: “We are certainly very far from being the anti-Juventus. Our goal is to return to play in Champions League and do well in Europa League“.

On what to improve: “We have to try to accelerate the experience growth, we have an opportunity, the results of the other teams show it, this team is not yet aware of how strong it is. So many guys have not exploded in this sense, they have no idea of how much they have to offer. We see the dialogue as something fundamental“.

On the importance of the former players: “All the ex who have passed through Milanello have a great affection for this tam. I have come back very willingly, we want to involve former players who can give something for the AC Milan of the future“.
