Maldini speaks about Modric to Milan

Rossoneri technical director Paolo Maldini talaked about the possibility of Real Madrid star Luka Modric joining AC Milan this summer.

MILAN NEWS – Today AC Milan presented new signings Theo Hernandez and Rade Krunic before the press. The former Real Madrid cost 20 million euros and debuted with a goal in today’s friendly match against Novara while Krunic was purchased for 8 million from Empoli.

During the presentation conference Maldini and Massara also answered questions regarding transfers. With Ismael Bennacer set to join Milan after the final of African’s Cup of Nations, the Rossoneri have shifted their focus on other midfielders. Including Luka Modric.

The Italian press has reported that AC Milan have made contacts with the Real Madrid superstar who could leave Spain if Los Blancos purchase both Pogba and Eriksen. When asked on the matter Maldini replied:

We never negotiated his purchase. We are looking for young and strong profiles but also experienced players that can help them grow. A player like Luka Modric would be perfect, but we never treated his signing“.

The summer transfer window is long. In certain roles we have needs. We are considering various tracks. Young and great players cost a lot, those of experience cost less but have other problems. We are not in a hurry. It is normal that we try to give the coach a complete squad as soon as possible but the market closes on 2 September”.
