Marca: Real Madrid to offer 60 million for Milan defender

Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, is considering the purchase of Alessio Romagnoli to strengthen the back line of the Champions League winners.

Marca reports that Real Madrid are in search of a new centre back this summer. Zinedine Zidane has demanded the signing of a new defender and president Florentino Perez will not spare to please his coach.

According to reports, Real Madrid are strongly interested in Jose Maria Gimenez of Atletico Madrid but it seems difficult that the Colchoneros sell one of their most prized assets to their city rivals citizens. It’s not clear even if the Uruguayan would accept such a proposal. Rumors suggest that the player prefers a move to Manchester United instead. However, Real Madrid have a plan B. If Los Blancos do not sign Gimenez then Alessio Romagnoli is the second option.

The Merengues want to conduct their transfer business early this summer and consider Romagnoli, together with Skriniar of Inter, as two players ready to make the big leap forward. The Champions League winners would be ready to make an offer of 50-60 million euros to convince AC Milan to sell the talented defender. The Italy international is expected to renew his contract with Milan but a call from Real could change everything.
