AC Milan will face Bologna in their next Serie A match with Daniel Maldini set to start from the first minute.
AC Milan are going through a difficult period. After the thrashing 3-0 defeat against Atalanta in Serie A, the Rossoneri lost the derby against Inter and are now out of the Coppa Italia.
On Saturday, Milan need to turn the page against Bologna. Even for Bologna vs Milan coach Stefano Pioli will have to deal with the absence of many players and youngster Daniel Maldini will very likely start from the first minute.
Hakan Calhanoglu has missed the last couple of games because of Covid and risks doing the same even for Bologna vs Milan. His natural replacement Brahim Diaz suffered an injury in the derby on his left leg and will certainly not play.
In order to keep the 4-2-3-1 lineup, Pioli needs to play with an attacking midfielder and Daniel Maldini is the chosen one reports Sky Sport. In the last training session Pioli also tried Rafael Leao and Mario Mandzukic in the attacking midfielder position but only Daniel Maldini is a natural number 10.
Nevertheless, there is good news for Pioli. After nearly two months out, Ismael Bennacer will be part of the squad for the Bologna match. The Algerian star seems to have finally recovered after a muscle injury.
