Gazidis in meeting with new AC Milan coach

AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis has traveled to London to meet Maurizio Sarri. The Rossoneri will offer Sarri a contract of 3 million euros per year.

With Gian Piero Gasperini set to become the new coach of AS Roma the alternatives for the Rossoneri bench have decreased to only two. Former Sassuolo and Roma coach Francesco Di Francesco, and the current manager of Chelsea Maurizio Sarri.

Sarri is Paolo Maldini’s top pick but apparently also the ideal solution for Ivan Gazidis. Chelsea president Roman Abramovich will fire Maurizio Sarri at the end of the season despite the result of the Europa League final and the Italian is expected to return to Serie A.

According to Sportmediaset, Ivan Gazidis will be in London in the next few hours to meet in person Maurizio Sarri. The new AC Milan CEO wants to reach an agreement with the former Napoli coach before the end of league in order to accelerate Milan’s movements on the transfer market front. Leonardo, less and less involved in the choice of the new coach, has remained in Milano.

AC Milan will offer Maurizio Sarri a contract of 3 million euros per season. In addition, Gazidis will illustrate him the new project for AC Milan’s relaunch with young and talented players expected to be at the center of the discussion.

Unlike what happened at Chelsea, Sarri will be an important part of decision making at AC Milan regarding transfers. The Italian maestro, known for playing an attractive and attacking-minded brand of football, could require guarantees about the signing of certain players. At this point, Maurizio Sarri could be considered the next AC Milan coach.
