AC Milan block new goalkeeper

If Gianluigi Donanrumma doesn’t renew and leaves, AC Milan have already chosen the goalkeeper to replace him.

Contract renewal talks with Gianluigi Donanrumma remain at a stalemate. The Rossoneri have made a final offer of 8 million per season while the AC Milan goalkeeper has asked for at least 10 million. The situation keeps getting complicated by the day.

Donnarumma’s agent Mino Raiola was at Torino recently to discuss with Juventus a potential transfer for the Italian goalkeeper. A move that was not appreciated by the AC Milan management and the club has already started to look around for a new goalkeeper.

The Rossoneri have been linked with Udinese’s Juan Musso, Atalanta’s Pierluigi Gollini and Mike Maignan. However, it’s the French goalkeeper of Lille the number one target and AC Milan have already made contract with his agent.

Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that AC Milan have blocked Mike Maignan for next season. The 25-year-old goalkeeper is having a great year with Lille leading Ligue 1 standings in front of PSG. In 42 appearances so far Maignan has kept 20 clean sheets making him one of the best players in Europe in his position.

Thankfully Maignan is available for a relative low price tag. Because his contract with Lille expires in one year the French club are open to sell him for a fee of 15 million euros. If at the end Donnarumma chooses to leave it will be Mike Maignan to take his place as the new AC Milan goalkeeper.
