Striker hints at AC Milan move

Italian young striker Gianluca Scamacca is one of the names AC Milan are considering for the attack.

One of the most interesting names in Paolo Maldini’s list of targets is that of Gianluca Scamacca. After a fine season in Serie B, the young Italian striker is making a name for himself even in the top tier of the Italian league.

AC Milan have been following him the 22-year-old since his time in Serie B. The Rossoneri consider him a perfect partner for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. In a recent interview with Sportweek, Gianluca Scamacca hints at a possible summer transfer to AC Milan. “In order to make his breakthrough, a young player must play as much as possible. Then it is clear that if you are the back-up of a champion who, however, cannot play all of them at 39, the situation changes” .

A clear reference to AC Milan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Genoa striker is aware that playing regularly is very important for a player of his age but in order to play alongside Ibrahimovic (his idol), Scamacca is ready to act even as his back-up.

AC Milan and Juventus are the two clubs most interested in the Genoa striker. The Italian centre forward has scored 9 goals and assisted 2 in 24 appearances with Genoa. Nevertheless, the player is owned by Sassuolo who rate him 20-25 million euros.

In addition to Scamacca, AC Milan are keeping tabs on Dusan Vlahovic and Andrea Belotti. The Fiorentina striker has a very high price tag of around €50 million while the Torino star is rated the same as Gianluca Scamacca and his contract expires ine one year.
