AC Milan in advanced talks with Netherlands defender: the details

AC Milan are in advanced talks with PSV Eindhoven to sign Netherlands right-back Denzel Dumfries.

AC Milan have identified Denzel Dumfries as the number one target for the right-back role. According to reports by journalist Nicolo Schira, the Rossoneri are in advanced talks with the PSV defender.

Waiting to find out who will be the new coach of AC Milan, Ivan Gazidis and his staff are already working on the transfer market. Probably with a strong influence from Ralf Rangnick who is reportedly already influencing AC Milan’s upcoming shopping campaign.

Dumfries is a powerful full-back. The 24-year-old defender fits perfectly into the parameters imposed by Elliott. According to Schira, PSV have named the price tag of their captain: “AC Milan and PSV are talking about Denzel Dumfries, who is the first choice of the Rossoneri for the right-back role. The Dutch value Denzel Dumfries at €15 million“.

It cannot be excluded that Ricardo Rodriguez may be included in the negotiations. In January, the Swiss left-back joined PSV on loan with the right to buy. Rodriguez did well until the Coronavirus stop and he could stay in Netherlands in exchange for a discount on Dumfries. The PSV defender has made 40 appearances this season scoring 8 goals and providing 4 assists.

With Theo Hernandez on the left and Dumfries on the right, AC Milan would start the next season with two attacking minded full-backs. The arrival of the Netherlands international would mean the sale of at least one between Davide Calabria and Andrea Conti.
