Ancelotti’s advice for Gattuso and thoughts on new signings

Carlo Ancelotti returns to talk about AC Milan, his old friend Gennaro Gattuso and how some new signings have disappointed so far.

Guest of the Domenica Sportiva (Sports Sunday), Carlo Ancelotti spoke about his old player and now colleague Rino Gattuso: “The problem of Milan is that a new ownership has entered, that tried to renew and make big investments on the mercato. Buying top players becomes difficult. With 230 million you sign one. I believe that some purchases have probably been overestimated or that they have disappointed.

Ancelotti, who is considered as a target of Fassone for next season, continues: “When you change so much it takes time, patience and perseverance. A team like the current AC Milan does not have these qualities. I am always against the idea of sacking the coach. Who takes over usually has zero responsibility, but Rino, whom I love as a brother, must be calm and quiet“.

On Montella: “Finding the culprit is always easy. Vincenzo has done very well, the firing of a coach must be considered as part of our job. I would see him well as the national team’s coach. We have spent time together and he is very good. However if the club does not trust the coach, then his sacking is the right thing to do. But It does not mean that the firing is always a misfortune“.
