Berlusconi: “The Chinese have always fulfilled their commitments”

Former rossoneri president Silvio Berlusconi returns to talk about AC Milan and comments on the doubts cast on the new Chinese ownership.

The historic passage of ownership from Silvio Berlusconi to Yonghong Li took place last April and opened a new chapter in the rossoneri history. The Berlusconi family sold 99.93% stake of AC Milan for about €520 million, plus the refurbishment of the club financial debt of €220 million. Despite the time past, it continues to be a highly discussed topic, especially for the recent investigations on the new president of Milan and his wealth.

Silvio Berlusconi has twitted some thoughts on the sale of the Rossoneri club: “In selling Milan, Fininvest relied on advisors, law firms and international banks. The Chinese buyers have always fulfilled their commitments and an important fund like Elliott felt safe to provide them with a huge loan.”

In a follow-up tweet, the former president, also comments on Ancelotti’s candidacy as possible coach of the Italian national team: “He is such a good coach and I love him so much, that I consider him suitable for any task. There is no magic recipe for the Italian football. It takes a long and patient job to rebuild, starting from the youth sectors, from the enhancement of young players.”
