AC Milan agree Diego Laxalt transfer

AC Milan left-back Diego Laxalt transfers to Atalanta on a season-long loan. The Uruguay defender leaves after only one season at San Siro.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – After negotiations with Parma, Spal, Torino and Atalanta, AC Milan have finally agreed the transfer of Diego Laxalt to Bergamo. The left-back will join Atalanta on a season-long loan.

According to Sky Sport, AC Milan and Atalanta have reached an agreement. The two Serie A clubs are expected to close minor details tomorrow and Laxalt will finally join his former coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

Transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio reveals the details of the operation. Diego Laxalt will transfer to Atalanta on loan with the right to buy but the move could become obligated if certain conditions are met. Probably based on a number of appearances during the new season.

Laxalt will be again under Gian Piero Gasperini’s orders after having already worked together at Genoa. The Uruguayan international was forced to leave AC Milan after the arrival of Theo Hernandez for €20 million from Real Madrid. Ivan Strinic is expected to leave too.

AC Milan signed Diego Laxalt from Genoa for €14 million last summer. The 26-year-old left back made 29 appearances but failed to justify the investment. His performances were mostly underwhelming and he often started from the bench. His cost on the books of the club is 10,5 million so any transfer at a higher fee would allow Milan to make a small capital gain.
