The reason why Gattuso wanted Bakayoko

AC Milan have completed the signing of 23 year old Tiemoue Bakayoko who joins the Rossoneri after one year in England. Bakayoko was a specific request of Gattuso.

AC Milan have just announced the signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea on loan with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season for 35 million euros. The 23 year old French player was a specific transfer request of coach Gattuso.

According to Italian newspaper Il Giornale, Tiemoue Bakayoko was strongly wanted by Rino Gattuso for his tactical flexibility. The former Monaco star, can in fact be deployed both as defensive midfielder in front of the defense but also as central midfielder guaranteeing an envious coverage that the Red and Blacks lacked last season.

The French international will add muscles, centimeters and power to Gattuso’s squad, something that Kessie was unable to do for the entire season last year.  Bakayoko will wear the number 14 jersey in his new adventure in Italy and will be unveiled to the media in a press conference this Friday at Casa Milan.
