After completing the signing of Musacchio from Villarreal, Andrea Conti is the next target AC Milan are after. An initial offer has been made and both parties seem optimistic a deal can be reached.
Conti is one of this year Serie A revelations with a sure future ahead of him. The right back has also been part of all youth teams at national level and lately has been closely watched by coach Ventura. His first season as a protagonist is finishing in the best possible way with Atalanta already qualified for next season Europa League after a 26 years absence.
AC Milan have been closely monitoring the 23 year old for a long time. The rossoneri scouts have been impressed by his fantastic appearances this season and seem more than convinced that Conti is ready for a new adventure at the highest levels. He can be an excellent alternative to Ignazio Abate or Mattia De Sciglio whose departure is very probable. According to Sky Sports, the red and black club has just made an official first offer of 17 million euros to Atalanta. Although the Bergamo based club needs some time to respond, Tuttomercatoweb insists that they will pretend at least 24 million for the defender. The player has often expressed his approval for this transfer declaring “playing for a big team like Milan is a dream for every footballer”.
This season Conti has played 32 matches for Atalanta in Serie A, scoring 8 goals and assisting 4 times. No other defender has managed to score more in Europe’s big 5 leagues. Hefty numbers for a defender who has started only this season to become a fundamental part of the squad. Conti also scored the opening goal against Milan in the head to head match of two weeks ago. Interest for the player is high with Chelsea and Barcelona being two of the suitors. Atalanta have already programmed Franck Kessie sale to AC Milan and Papu Gomez may soon join the negotiations. Both parties are in early stages of negotiations but a deal looks very likely. After securing Musacchio’s signing, Fassone and Mirabelli are looking for other players to complete Montella’s team for next season.
