Montella wants to sign two AC Milan players

Former AC Milan coach Vincenzo Montella wants two Rossoneri players to join him at Fiorentina on loan in January.

Vincenzo Montella had a short tenure at AC Milan guiding the Rossoneri for a year and a half before being replaced by Gennaro Gattuso. However, Montella remains the last Milan coach to have won a trophy at San Siro defeating Juventus in the Italian Super Cup final.

Now coach Montella is at Fiorentina leading a talented side with players like Chiesa and Castrovilli but far from the European zone. In January, Montella aims to move on the market to reinforce his squad and has targeted two former players of his.

According to La Nazione, Montella wants Fabio Borini and Ricardo Rodriguez to join him at Fiorentina. The Viola are expected to contact AC Milan in the coming weeks to understand the intentions of he Rossoneri regarding the duo.

Fiorentina are interested only on loan moves for Ricardo Rodriguez and Borini but are willing to cover their wages until the end of the season helping Milan save about 5 million on the two.

Both players are not part of Stefano Pioli’s project. Fabio Borini has never been a regular starter at San Siro while Rodriguez has lost his place after Theo Hernandez’s breakthrough. AC Milan would like to sell both players in January in order to invest on new signings but much will depend on the market.
