New AC Milan management makes final decision of Kamada

Daichi Kamada was supposed to be AC Milan’s first signing but everything was put on hold following the departure of Maldini.

The recent departure of Maldini and Massara has created a chaotic situation at AC Milan. The vast majority of their transfer targets are no longer being taken into consideration by the new management, Gorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada are looking at other names to strengthen the squad. Daichi Kamada is the only name from the old management still in their orbit.

Shortly before he left Paolo Maldini had reached a total agreement with the 26-year-old Japan international. Kamada had accepted to join the Rossoneri rejecting a rich offer from Borussia Dortmund and also the proposals from Atletico Madrid and Napoli. Kamada had accepted a long-term contract of €3 million per season, plus bonuses.

He was supposed to arrive in Italy last week to undergo medicals before signing the contract. However, everything was put on hold by the new management. Gazzetta reports that AC Milan have turned again their attention to Kamada. A period of reflection followed to analyze the possible transfer.

The new management has decided to go ahead with the signing of Daichi Kamada according to Gazzetta. Furlani had a talk with Stefano Pioli regarding the situation of the 26-yer-old and the Italian coach has given the green light. Kamada is set to take the empty spot left by Brahim Diaz who returned to Real Madrid.

Daichi Kamada will join AC Milan on a free transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt. Same terms that were agreed with Maldini will be still valid. Same bureaucratic issues need to be solved before finalizing the deal. The Japanese attacking midfielder who scored 16 goals and assisting 7 is expected to arrive in Italy near the end of June.
