Official – Gattuso signs Milan renewal: the details

The Rossoneri and Rino Gattuso, the story continues. The ex-Milan legend has signed a new deal with the club until 2021.

Gennaro Gattuso will continue to lead the Rossoneri for many years to come. After a few postponements, the former defensive midfielder of AC Milan has put pen to paper on a new deal. The new contract will keep Riho at San Siro until 2021 and he will receive a considerable salary increase. So far the coach was still on his 120,000 euros Primavera contract while from the new deal Gattuso will earn 2 million euros plus bonuses.

After signing his new contract with Milan Gattuso declared: “Thank you for the opportunity. Without Fassone and Mirabelli I would not be here. I’m happy to coach a glorious team like Milan. I thank my players and the staff, we hope to continue as in these months. Forza Milan, we hope to bring Milan back where it belongs. Thank you so much”.

Since he took charge at the club in November the team has shown drastic improvements and were close to Champions League qualification until yesterday (theoretically still are). His confirmation for next season is an important signal that the technical project of Fassone and Mirabelli is well on track. Now it’s time to close the season in proper fashion and concentrate on the transfer market.
