CorSera: Pepe Reina accepts Milan offer and new role

Pepe Reina is set to join AC Milan at the end of the season on a free transfer. The experienced Spanish goalkeeper will serve as vice-Gigio if the youngster decides to stay.

According to today’s of Il Corriere della Sera, Pepe Reina is ready to become a new AC Milan player at the end of the season. The current Napoli goalkeeper has not renewed his contract with the Neapolitan club and, according to the rumors, he has already promised himself to the Rossoneri club, accepting to play the role of second keeper even in the case of Gigio Donnarumma’s permanence, strongly desired by leadership.

To make room for him will be Marco Storari who will retire at the end of the season and possibly start a career as club executive within Milan while Antonio Donnarumma will serve as third goalkeeper. After Ivan Strinic, arriving from Sampdoria, Pepe Reina is the second player to join the Rossoneri on a free transfer.
