Pioli makes six changes for AC Milan vs Verona

Stefano Pioli has decided to overhaul his AC Milan squad and try a new formation for tomorrow’s match against Hellas Verona.

AC Milan shift their focus to Serie A after the goalless draw against Newcastle United. On Saturday, at 15:00 CET, the Rossoneri will host Hellas Verona at San Siro. Stefano Pioli’s squad needs to react after the two consecutive winless games that also include the derby disaster. Stefano Pioli is oriented to switch to 3-4-3 for AC Milan vs Verona according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian coach will make changes in every department starting from the goalkeeper role. Marco Sportiello will replace Mike Maignan between the posts. The French shot-stopper is expected to recover in time for the upcoming Champions League match. The back three will be formed by Malick Thiaw, Simon Kjaer and Fikayo Tomori. However, Pierre Kalulu has not recovered yet and could be out for probably two more weeks.

Alessandro Florenzi impressed in the second half against Newcastle and will start against Verona. AC Milan vs Verona will also mark the first minute debut of Yunus Musah. Rade Krunic remains untouchable for Stefano Pioli while the last available slot in midfield will be filled by Tijjani Reijnders.

The recent matches demonstrated that Olivier Giroud cannot start every match, every three days. However, the French striker is still expected to guide the attack in AC Milan vs Verona and will likely be rested for the match after against Cagliari. Chukwueze’s performances with Newcastle has not convinced and Pulisic will start on the right wing with Rafael Leao on the left.
