Sacchi reveals how AC Milan can pass the Champions group stage

Former Rossoneri coach Arrigo Sacchi thinks AC Milan can advance in the Champions League despite their very tough group opponents.

Champions League draw was perhaps unlucky for the Rossoneri. AC Milan have been drafted in a very tough group that will see them face some of Europe’s most important clubs. Stefano Pioli’s side will begin their Champions adventure in England against Liverpool and will later face Atletico Madrid and Porto.

Qualification to the knockout stage will be a very difficult task but not an impossible one. Legendary AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi believes that the Rossoneri have what it takes to progress to the next stage.

It’s true, Milan are in an fierce group“, says Sacchi in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport:  “But Atletico Madrid, Liverpool and Porto are not unbeatable. The important thing is that the Rossoneri give everything to make a good impression“.

Arrigo Sacchi seems really convinced that Milan can make a good impression in the Champions League. And if he says so, then the fans must have faith too: “You have to give your soul to get through the group stage. The Champions League is also important at an economic level because it guarantees income and above all it gives you global visibility.”

Team spirit can be decisive according to Sacchi: “The debut at Anfield will be very complicated. But let’s not forget that Pioli’s men gave Manchester United a lot of trouble last season. Milan is made up of young players, perhaps inexperienced in the European arena, but team spirit and a game with ideas can allow these guys to go far”.
