New signing to be funded with incoming treasure from Paqueta

The potential transfer of Lucas Paqueta to Lyon would allow AC Milan to make another important signing before the end of the summer transfer window.

AC Milan will not make any another important signings without selling Lucas Paqueta first. The Brazilian 23-year-old midfielder, fresh from a very bad season with the Rossoneri, no longer seems to be part of the club’s plans for the future.

The arrival of Brahim Diaz and the growth of Daniel Maldini will further reduce his play time at San Siro. His departure appears truly inevitable. On Paqueta there is a strong interest from Lyon. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Lyon are offering 23 million euros, a sum that would be enough to close his purchase.

Lyon will have money to spend with two of their best players about to leave. Depay is close to joining Barcelona while Jeff Reine-Adelaide has admitted that he doesn’t see his future at Lyon either. The Ligue 1 club are looking at Paqueta to fill the void.

With the money collected from the sale of the Brazilian midfielder, Milan would have a small treasure in their hands that they would reinvest on the transfer market. The priority, in addition to the midfielder (Bakayoko or alternatively Soumare), is certainly to strengthen the back line.

The name at the top of the list is that of Fiorentina defender Milenkovic. The price tag of the Serbian centre back is 40 million euros high but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport a Tonali-like operation can not be excluded.
