Bayern pushing to sign Rossoneri defender – AC Milan stance

The AC Milan centre back is a top target for Bayern Munich who are on the market trying to find a replacement for Benjamin Pavard.

Bayern Munich have closed an agreement to sell Benjamin Pavard to Inter for a fee of over €30 million. There is a total agreement between the two clubs and the player, however, something is missing. The German giants will not approve the transfer of Benjamin Pavard to Inter unless they find a worthy substitute.

Bayern Munich have turned their attention of AC Milan defender Pierre Kalulu. Sky Sport reports that Bayern will try to reach an agreement with AC Milan and secure the highly-rated French centre back. Bayern has been a traditional destination for many French players through the years.

The offer of Bayern Munich for Pierre Kalulu is close to €30 million according to reports from Sky Sport. The 23-year-old French centre back host lost his regular starting spot recently in favor of Malick Thiaw. Nevertheless, Kalulu remains a key player for the Rossoneri and especially for coach Stefano Pioli who has never hidden his appreciation for the young defender.

AC Milan do not want to part ways with Kalulu for many reasons. The Frenchman is a versatile player that can swiftly play as centre back or right back allowing Pioli to have a reliable alternative to both Tomori and Thiaw, as well as Calabria on the right. In addition, it would be quite difficult for the Rossoneri to find a proper replacement with the mercato window ending this week. Plus, Milan would indirectly be helping Inter to get Pavard since his transfer is blocked unless a replacement arrives.

AC Milan would have the chance make make quite a nice profit on a player they signed for around 1 million euros but the conditions are not optimal. The youngster arrived as a signing for the Primavera squad but quickly made the jump to the first team. Today, Pierre has over 100 official appearances for AC Milan.
