Monza close signing of AC Milan striker

An agreement has been completed between Monza and AC Milan for the loan transfer of the highly-rated Italian striker.

Eleven days remain until the end of the summer transfer window. The Rossoneri have done a lot of business on entries with Marco Pellegrino set to become the ninth signings this summer. The situation has been slower on exits but that will change soon with Lorenzo Colombo set to leave again on loan.

Monza have reached an agreement to sign Lorenzo Colombo on loan until the end of the season. A total agreement has been reached between the two clubs and the player. Talks were conducted by Adriano Galliani and agent Giuseppe Riso’s. The club of deceased president Silvo Berlusconi will not have an option to make the transfer permanent.

AC Milan will remain in full control of Colombo’s future. The 21-year-old Italian striker has done really well in the first two seassons on loan, first in Serie B with Spal and then in Serie A with Leece. He scored 6 goals and assisted 2 in 34 appearances securing a comfortable salvation for Lecce.

The Rossoneri would have preferred to keep Colombo at their ranks as third choice striker behind Olivier Giroud and Noah Okafor. However, the player is at a stage of his career where he needs to play regular football and Monza seem like a perfect destination for the 21-year-old considering the attractive football they displayed last season.

Monza coach Raffaele Palladino can’t wait to have Colombo under his orders. “I really like him, he has great potential. He has characteristics that we could really use“, said Palladino. The transfer will become official once AC Milan have completed the signing of a new striker. Many names have been linked with the Rossoneri but there doesn’t seem to be a favorite target for now.
