Pellegatti: AC Milan have inquired about €25m Brazilian right winger

AC Milan have made an inquiry for Mateus Tete. The Brazilian winger is rated around €25 million but could be available for less.

The Rossoneri are not expected to do any significant business in January and instead focus their attention for the summer. One of the most important issues to solve is that of the new right winger. Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers have disappointed so far this season. The duo have scored only 5 goals in 24 appearances and their physical form has also been quite underwhelming.

The management is still expecting to find out what will be the transfer budget for the upcoming summer window but Maldini and Massara are already at work. In recent days, the name of Houssem Aouar has been linked to the Rossoneri. However, AC Milan are also looking at his Lyon teammate Tete reports Carlo Pellegatti.

The Brazilian winger moved to Europe for €15 million before ever making his professional debut with Gremio. Tete made 46 goal contributions until war broke out in Ukraine. Tete left Shakhtar Donetsk and joined French side Lyon on loan where he has become a regular starter under both Peter Bosz and Laurent Blanc.

This season Tete has scored 5 goals and assisted 3 in 15 appearances. Shakhtar Donetsk are asking for a fee of around €25 million in order to part ways with the Brazilian winger according to Pellegatti. However, Tete’s contract with Shakhtar expires at the end of 2023 so he could be available for a much reasonable fee in the summer.

In addition to having a keen eye for goal, Mateus Tete also offers balance to the squad similarly to what Saelemaekers does at AC Milan. It is still early and currently there is no frontrunner for the right winger role but the Rossoneri managers are looking around for options.
